Waste Management

Garbage

Safe and regular garbage disposal is of the utmost importance to our community.

Garbage is to be placed in polyethylene bags or containers prior to being placed into the skip.

To reduce lingering odors and the breeding of maggots, rats, and roaches homeowners with individual garbage receptacles should not only similarly bag their garbage, but are also encouraged to put out their garbage on Monday mornings to coincide with the scheduled garbage collection by NSWMA.

The individual receptacles should be removed as soon as the garbage is collected. Large items should not be placed in the garbage skip.

These items should not be visible prior to collection, and homeowners are responsible for disposing of such items. Items not dealt with, as required, in a timely manner will be collected at your charge.

Recycling

All home owners are encouraged to recycle their plastic bottles as often as possible.

Go to Recycling Partners of Jamaica (RPJ) – Help us put plastic in its place! (recyclingja.com) for more details on the recycling program. Remember only PET & HDPE plastic bottles should be put into the recycle bins.

AND for more details on the meaning of the plastic recycle symbols here is an article at Good Housekeeping that can shed some light on the matter. (https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/g804/recycling-symbols-plastics-460321)

The Savannah At The Vistas is pleased to embark on this journey to realize Jamaica`s 2030 Evergreen Vision. Join us to make our community lead the way for our children’s future.
